Rystad projects investment for the oil industry in 2022

The Norwegian analysts at Rystad Energy forecast a substantial surge in investments in upstream gas and LNG. In total, oil and gas investments are expected to grow to USD 628bn.

From the perspective of Norwegian analyst firm Rystad Energy, the global oil and gas industry will see investments to the tune of USD 628bn in 2022.

According to a new analysis, this represents an increase of USD 26bn – or 4 percent – relative to 2021, as "the industry continues its protracted recovery from the worst of the pandemic and the hurdles imposed by the Omicron variant," notes Rystad.
