US hits Nord Stream 2 with new sanctions

The US has announced more sanctions against the pipeline, and the administration will continue to oppose the project, says state secretary.

The meeting in July between US President Joe Biden and German Chancellor Angela Merkel led to no such thing as an agreement on the Nord Stream 2 project.

As much became clear on Monday, when US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced new sanctions, this time directed at a Russia-affiliated division of shipping company Transadria and its vessel.
