TotalEnergies launches new Tyra field

Monday, the first three new production platforms are put into place at major gas field Tyra in the Danish North Sea. "A landmark day," says TotalEnergies' project lead, Morten Hesselager Pedersen.

Almost two years after all gas extraction ceased at the Tyra field prior to the decommissioning of all its platforms, establishment now commences of Tyra II – the result of the DKK 21bn (EUR 2.8bn) redevelopment effort – operator TotalEnergies (formerly Total) informs EnergyWatch.

Sunday morning saw enormous ship Big Roll Beaufort arrive with three production platforms: two wellhead platforms and a riser platform. And during Monday – likely Monday morning – the world's largest floating crane, Sleipnir, will lift the three platforms into place.
