Danish appeals board repeals Baltic Pipe permit

The environmental license for Baltic Pipe has been repealed by the Danish Environmental Protection Agency's appeals board. Construction work on the pipeline is halted immediately and indefinitely.

Danish transmission system operator Energinet was issued an environmental permit to build Baltic Pipe on July 12, 2019. Now that green light has been retracted.

This occurs after the Danish Environmental Protection Agency reviewed the approval in conjunction with an appeals board, Energinet confirms in a statement Thursday afternoon.
