Equinor drills dry in Barents Sea

The Norwegian oil outfit failed to find oil in a probe drilled near the Wisting prospect.

A wildcat well drilling under license 722, owned by Equinor and issued in 2013, has not found any commercial hydrocarbons, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate confirms in a statement Tuesday.

The well was drilled at location 320 kilometers north of Hammerfest, Northern Norway, and 45 kilometers northwest of oil discovery 7324/8-1 (Wisting) in the Barents Sea.
