Maersk Drilling enters Brazilian offshore with fresh rig deal

The Danish drilling company reports the value of a new deal as USD 34m including modifications to and mobilization of the entailed rig.

Maersk Drilling has entered the Brazilian offshore market with a contract awarded by energy firm Karoon Energy for drilling rig Maersk Developer.

Under this contract, the rig will carry out drilling work in four wells at the Baúna field, according to a statement issued Tuesday by Maersk Drilling. The company reports the value of the deal as USD 34m including modifications to and mobilization of the rig.
