Total, Siemens to collaborate on greener LNG

The two companies have entered a technical partnership to create carbon-reducing solutions, including natural gas liquefaction facilities.

French oil supermajor Total now allies with German energy group Siemens Energy to study CO2-reducing solutions. Their partnership will focus on facilities producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) and associated power generation.

The endeavor includes hydrogen combustion in gas turbines, electrical liquefaction, optimized power generation, integration of renewables in the facilities' power systems and improvements to their efficiency.
