Total readies supply of greener jet fuel to French airports

The French oil company has started to produce and distribute greener jet fuel in its home market.

The biofuel refinery in La Mède, France, owned by oil and gas supermajor Total, is now making so-called sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and the same thing is true of the company's Oudalle plant located in Le Havre, Total informs in a press statement.

SAFs are made by heating various types of lipids, for instance, animal fats, used cooking oil and other waste products, and the group is planning on delivering the bio-jet fuel to domestic airports already this month.
