Another accident hits Seadrill rig two weeks after orders to improve safety

Barely two weeks after drilling company Seadrill was ordered to improve safety, another accident has occurred on one of the company's drilling rigs, writes E24. "It is not good at all," says Norwegian supervision.

Seadrill rig West Mira, controlled by John Fredriksen, has been involved in an accident that is perceived as a "serious breach of the rules", according to the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway

According to E24, a so-called "christmas tree" – a set of pipes and valves mounted on the wellhead to control the flow of hydrocarbons – fell to the seabed when a wire was cut during the lowering operation.
