Seven oil companies want in on new licenses for the Norwegian shelf

A total of seven oil companies have applied for production licenses on the Norwegian shelf in a new licensing round. Licenses are awarded for the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea.

Seven oil companies have applied for licenses that allow them to extract oil on the Norwegian shelf in a new licensing round whose deadline expired last week.

The companies in question are Shell, Equinor, Ineos, Lundin, OMV, Vår and Idemitsu Petroleum. Common to all the companies is that their Norwegian branches filed the application.
