Ocean Team's plans shift from growth to survival

The Danish oil and wind subsupplier and service operator lost all travel-related tasks as well as 36 percent of its revenue during the virus crisis. Now the company has trimmed its business accordingly and set its sights on developing clean technologies.

In the half year leading up to March of 2020, the future seemed bright for Ocean Team, based in Western Denmark's main oil and offshore wind port, Esbjerg. The group mainly supplies cleantech solutions to the fossil fuel sector but is also involved with combined power and heating plants, the maritime industry and the wind energy sector.

The company's order forecast looked like it would be fulfilled, then the Covid-19 pandemic struck in force, recollects Ocean Team Chief Executive Jens Peder Thomsen.
