Total buys biogas company

France's Fonroche Biogaz is now a subsidiary of supermajor Total, which continues its buying spree for the greener gas.

French oil and gas supermajor Total is now acquiring Fonroche Biogaz, a company that builds and operates anaerobic biogas digesters, having presently more than 500 GWh in annual production capacity, Total informs in a statement Monday.

With its seven operational facilities and a French market share of 10 percent, Fonroche Biogaz is a leading industry player. For Total, the purchase is about gaining further growth opportunities in its domestic market as well as implementing the technology on a global scale:
