Equinor awards big order for Johan Sverdrup

Aker Solutions has received the task of hooking up the Norwegian field's fifth platform.

Aker Solutions has once again been given a job at the Johan Sverdrup oil field. The Norwegian oil service operator is awarded with a contract worth up to NOK 500 million (EUR 47.21 million) to hook up the fifth platform as a part of the major field's second development phase, Johan Sverdrup's operator, Equinor, informs in a media release.

Project planning begins immediately and will last throughout next year and into 2022, when Sverdrup's second phase is set to commission in the fourth quarter. Aker Solutions is well versed in such tasks and has already been hired on a contract for the field's first phase.
