Total strikes big gas deposit off South African coast

The French oil company has discovered a "significant" gas deposit, the group writes Wednesday.

Total follows up on last year's Brulpadda find in striking a new discovery off the coast of South Africa, the company informs in a statement, adding that its has struck a deposit of 73 meters net gas condensate pay with the Luiperd prospect.

The find is located in the Outeniqua Basin 175 kilometers off South Africa's southern coast, belonging to the Block 11B/12B.
