Strike threatens production at Equinor's biggest oil field

If an agreement cannot be reached between Equinor and labor union Lederne before Oct. 14, the Norwegian oil giant will be forced to shut down production at Johan Sverdrup.

A strike by the members of trade union Lederne in Norway could end up impacting Johan Sverdrup, Equinor's biggest oil field in Norway.

The strike broke out in late September, and at the time there were already media reports on potential consequences for production at the huge oil field. However, Equinor later tried to put those concerns to rest.
