Punctured Danish oil myth adds weight to calls for oil license moratorium

The story of Denmark's oil industry being among the world's cleanest is debunked, say government support parties in the wake of a new emissions report that ranks the country on the bottom half of the global list. Climate and Energy Minister Dan Jørgensen is not yet inclined to comment.

The touchy question of Denmark's future oil business didn't make it on the agenda Wednesday when Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen hosted a climate meeting. However, the issue will soon be taken up with renewed pressure from the government's support parties, which want the country's eighth E&P license tender canceled.
