1,000 employees in the oil sector to sent home – more to come

In Norway, employees in the oil sector are now feeling the consequences of the oil plunge, as up to 1,000 have already been told they will be sent home temporarily, union tells E24. And there are more to come.

Up to 1,000 employees in the Norwegian oil sector have been told that they will be sent home temporarily, says Roy Aleksandersen, deputy leader at union Safe, to Norwegian media E24.

"Many of our members who are working offshore have been informed that they will be sent home, and this already concerns as many as 1,000. And more will come," he tells the media.
