Rosebank field brings Equinor electrification trouble

Not all Norwegian oil facilities will be electrified, asserts Equinor EVP Anders Opedal, using the British former Rosebank field as an example that some areas are difficult to plug into the grid.

"We will take energy-reducing initiatives, secure turbines with smaller energy consumption and electrify our turbines so they go electric instead of being gas-fired," says Anders Opedal, Equinor's EVP for technology, projects and drilling. Photo: Harald Pettersen, Equinor
