Norway's oil hunt maintains full speed – but with only few discoveries

Norway's Petroleum Directorate informs that there have been relatively few oil discoveries this year despite a large number of exploratory drillings. Aker BP is behind the largest find this year.

Even though the Norwegian oil industry is churning at full pace, a large number of exploratory drillings in the first half of this year have not struck any larger discoveries.

30 of such drillings have taken place thus far this year, "but only six discoveries" have been made during the period – four in the North Sea and two in the Norwegian Sea, informs Norway's Petroleum Directorate in its biannual report.
