Drilling major Seadrill, controlled by John Fredriksen, is now hiring again after a series of weak years in the wake of the oil price collapse in 2014.
According to Norwegian offshore media Sysla, the crisis meant that 1,000 of a total 1,400 employees in the period 2014 to 2016 were laid off at Seadrill's Norwegian company, which previously operated under the name North Atlantic Drilling.
