Total begins firing round with 200 layoffs

French oil major Total plans to fire as many as 200 of its 1,500 employees in Esbjerg, Denmark, the company informs.

French oil major Total has initiated a larger round of layoffs in Esbjerg, Denmark.

The company says in a press statement that it plans to lay off up to 200 personnel and a "number of contractors" from its 1,500 Esbjerg-based staff. Total estimates that the changes in its Danish operation will facilitate a simplified and focused structure.
