Huge LNG effort in Africa settled

US-based Anadarko invests USD 20 billion in an LNG project in Mozambique. A terminal will contribute to making the southeastern African country one of the largest LNG producers in the world.

These days, the next chapter is written in the history of Mozambique as a coming major LNG producer.

It has been known for a long time that US oil and gas company Anadarko was planning a major LNG project in the country, going by the name Mozambique LNG. On Tuesday, Anadarko revealed that it has made its final investment decision (FID) on the project, according to a statement by Wood Mackenzie.
