Saudi Aramco was the world's most profitable company in 2018

Saudi oil behemoth Aramco booked the largest commercial profit in the world last year, according to Bloomberg News. The company's per barrel earnings lags behind some of its major competitors, however.

Of all the world's companies, it was Saudi Aramco that booked the largest profits in 2018, according to a rare insight into the company's finances.

Last year, the company's net income reached a total of USD 111 billion out of a revenue of USD 356 billion, Bloomberg News writes on the figures, which based information of an anonymous source privy to the company's presentation to potential bondholders. And the oil company's bottom line was thus larger than the combined profits of prominent companies like Apple, Google and ExxonMobil, Bloomberg writes.
