Nordic offshore companies impair fleet by half a billion dollars

Maersk Supply Service is far from the only offshore shipping company obliged to book major fleet impairments in recent years. A report from Vessels Value shows that nine out of 14 of the major Nordic offshore operators have implemented write downs.

Although optimism has slowly started to return to the tormented offshore industry, the downturn of recent years will continue to hurt in parts of the industry.

This will impact a significant impact on several offshore carriers operating in Norway. Here, nine out of 14 offshore shipping fleets assessed by Vessels Values on behalf of ShippingWatch depreciated in value throughout 2018.
