Total gets green light for North Sea acquisition

French utility Total has been granted permission to increase its presence in the Danish North Sea.

Last year, Total acquired Chevron's share in Dansk Undergrunds Consortium (DUC) which produces oil in the Danish North Sea.

The deal was approved by the EU Commission's competitions authority Friday, with the Danish energy department previously green-lighting the arrangement.
