Impairment drags Nordic American Offshore into the red

Scorpio-controlled offshore ship operator Nordic American Offshore exits 2018 with a deficit of nearly USD 200 million following a massive impairment. However, CEO Emanuele Lauro points to growing activity in the North Sea.

Nordic American Offshore, which was taken over by the Scorpio group in December last year, booked a deficit of nearly USD 200 million in 2018.

Specifically, the offshore carrier booked a deficit of USD 197.3 million, most of which can be attributed to a USD 160.1 million impairment, shows the annual report.
