2019 is showing signs of becoming a busy year in the North Sea, where, for instance, exploration for new oil deposits will see a rebirth, and many major trades are expected, reports energy analyst firm Wood Mackenzie in a new analysis, highlighting five North Sea themes worth monitoring this year.

The first of the five themes the analyst firm emphasizes is oil exploration. Wood Mackenzie describes 2019 as a "tantalizing" year for prospecting in the North Sea.
