Daewoo and Singapore yard fighting for massive order

Two shipbuilders, Daewoo and Sembcorp, are left standing in the race to build an offshore facility for oil major Chevron. The order is worth billions of dollars.

Oil major Chevron has tapped two finalists for a billion dollar order to build a new FPSO, an offshore floating production storage and offloading facility.

South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Singapore-based Sembcorp Marine are fighting for the order, which is worth USD 2 billion, reports media Pulse.
