Siemens to supply British power plant with gas turbine

The German industrial giant will supply a gas turbine for a 840 MW power plant in the UK.

Siemens will be delivering the first make of its new gas turbine model, 50hz HL- Class. It will be delivered to the Keadby power plant in Lincolnshire, UK, Siemens writes in a press statement.

Aside from the actual turbine in question, Siemens will also be suppling a so-called full turnkey solution for the 840 MW power plant rated at 63 percent energy efficiency. The client is the Scottish energy company SSE, which has invested GBP 350 million for the installation of the power plant. The facility will be a so-called combined power plant, which also utilizes steam from the gas turbine to produce extra energy.
