A new legal bill aims to secure more oil cargo for US vessels

A legal bill issued Tuesday seeks to ensure that a larger share of US oil and gas exports will be earmarked for vessels constructed in the US and sailing with US crew.

A new legal bill will ensure that a larger share of oil and gas exports from the US will sail on American ships.

According to the bill issued Tuesday, 10 percent of the country's oil exports after 2032 are to be transported by vessels constructed in the US and sailed by US crew. The same applies to 15 percent of LNG exports after 2040.
