Danish researchers eye big potential in biogas

European biogas production could quadruple, which would pave the way for 20 percent of the transportation sector to run on sustainable fuel in 2030, conclude researchers from Denmark's Aalborg University.

New research from Denmark's Aalborg University shows that there is potential to increase European biogas production to four times its current size by 2030.

If this potential is fulfilled, the researchers say that this would form the basis for at least 20 percent of the transportation sector to run on sustainable fuel about a decade from now. This would apply to buses and heavy transport such as trucks.
