Maersk Supply: Every third offshore vessel in the world is unemployed

Maersk is looking to sell its offshore carrier Maersk Supply Service at a time when one in three supply vessels across the globe are stacked and unemployed, according to the carrier's current view of the market.

2017 was another tough year for offshore carrier Maersk Supply Service, a business unit for which A.P. Moeller-Maersk is looking for a buyer within the end of the year.

In the annual report, published Friday, Maersk Group notes that around 30 percent of the world's offshore supply vessels were, at the end of 2017, stacked and unemployed due to the low activity level in the sector.
