Norway sells record amount of gas

Gas sales from the Norwegian Shelf have never been as high as they were in 2017 where oil production declined. However, total production grew for the fourth consecutive year.

Never has as much Norwegian Shelf gas been sold as last year. While oil production saw a slight decline, the overall production from the shelf rose for the fourth consecutive year, informs the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate in a press release.

Over coming years, the rise will continue going toward 2023, the directorate estimates in the forecast, adding that it could reach the level of the record year 2004. At that point, gas will make up around half of the production.
