Several states oppose Trump's drilling license sales

Multiple coastal states in the US are seeking exemption from a planned sale of new oil and gas licenses in US waters. One state is already exempt. The expansion is part of President Donald Trump's efforts to strengthen the oil industry.

Several states along the US coast are seeking exemption from President Donald Trump's planned sale of new offshore licenses for oil drillings.

Last week, the US president announced that he wants to grow the number of licenses in US waters, so that oil companies get more opportunities to drill for oil and gas.
