Centrica scouting for new oil contracts

British utility Centrica wants to enter another joint venture in the oil industry – preferably in the North Sea.

While Maersk, Ørsted and Shell have been busy selling out of the aging fields in the North Sea, others have made acquisitions. And the sales are not set to stop anytime soon, at least not if it is up to the UK's largest energy supplier Centrica.

The company, which entered a joint venture earlier this year with Bayerngas Norge for oil and gas extraction in the North Sea, is actively seeking another joint venture, preferably in the North Sea, reports the Financial Times.
