US and Japan concerned about Chinese purchase of oil giant

The Saudi Arabian government could end up selling part of the state-owned oil major Aramco to China, prompting concerns in the US and Japan.

The US and Japan are concerned about Saudi Arabia's new plans to sell part of the state-owned oil company Aramco to Chinese authorities, reports Wall Street Journal.

Previously, the plan in Riyadh was to list Aramco in 2018, so that foreign investors could seize a share of the large company.
