Aker BP awards contracts to Aker Solutions and Subsea 7

Oil company Aker BP has awarded Subsea 7 and Aker Solutions main contracts on the Ærfugl field. Subsea 7's contract alone is valued at USD 150-300 million.

Subsea 7 and Aker Solutions have been awarded main contracts on the Ærfugl field in the Norwegian North Sea, where the suppliers will contribute to the development of the field.

Oil company Aker BP awarded the contracts, announce Aker Solutions and Subsea 7 in separate press releases. While the two companies have not revealed the specific value of the contracts, Subsea 7 has described the contract as "substantial", which the company defines as being between USD 150-300 million. Both contracts include an option for further work on Ærfugl's second phase which can be exercised by Aker BP in the future.
