Maersk Drilling employee dead after rig accident in Norway

A Norwegian employee has died after a serious accident on drilling rig Maersk Interceptor Thursday, informs oil major Aker BP, which has hired Maersk Drilling for a field in Norway.

A Norwegian employee of Maersk Drilling has died after a serious accident on drilling rig Maersk Interceptor Thursday, informs oil major Aker BP, which has contracted Maersk Drilling for oil field Tambar, in a press release.

The employee fell into the sea when performing maintenance work on the rig, and he was subsequently flown to the hospital in Norway's second-largest city, Bergen. But hospital staff were unable to save him.
