Total acquires Engie's liquefied natural gas business

French Total has acquired the liquefied natural gas business from Engie for USD 1.49 billion and will thus become the second-largest player in LNG.

French energy group Total acquires Engie's business for liquefied natural gas (LNG) for USD 1.49 billion, giving rise to the second-largest LNG player in the world.

Additional payments from Total of USD 550 million could be in play, if the oil market improves in coming years, Total informs in a press release.
