Solar company denies crisis in Denmark

District heating is gaining a high profile internationally, says a Danish solar company after a record annual report. Growth is expected to continue in the long term.

Growth at Arcon-Sunmark continues to move upwards. Last year, the solar company booked revenue of DKK 457 million, a 36 percent improvement compared to the year prior and a whopping 425 percent over five years. Meanwhile, the bottom line was also record strong, although growth only budged from DKK 34 million to DKK 35 million.

Meanwhile, a crisis seems to have struck the company in the Autumn, when it was announced that every third employee at its factory in Skørping, Denmark had been let go  because of uncertainty on the Danish market in 2016. But since then, Arcon-Sunmark has expanded the world's largest solar installations in the Danish city of Silkeborg, and fears have generally been allayed by an energy savings agreement introduced shortly before Christmas.
