Søren Bjerre-Nielsen is stepping down as chairman of the board at window manufacturer Velux, reports Danish daily Berlingske Business. Deputy Chairman, Kim Fausing, will take over the position heading the board. At age 58, Fausing has been group CEO of Danfoss since 2008.
Velux CEO Jørgen Tang-Jensen, 60, has previously aired the possibility of appointing a new CEO. The timing for Bjerre-Nielsen's departure thus seems coordinated so that Velux can avoid replacing both chairman and CEO within a short period of time. Instead, the departing chairman believes the new chairman will have time to settle in before Tang-Jensen leaves. Yet Bjerre-Nielsen does not reveal when this would be.
