Europe's first major battery plant might be found in the Nordic region, potentially in Sweden, reports Financial Times after speaking with Peter Carlsson, a Swedish executive who sits on the board of stock phenomenon Fingerprint Cards and was formerly supply chain head for Tesla. Carlsson has stated that plans for the comprehensive battery plant could be unveiled Tuesday.
"If nobody does anything, Europe is going to be completely dependent on an Asian supply chain. Europe has the opportunity to act for its own energy independence. It's now or never," said Carlsson to the Financial Times.
