Vattenfall orders Europe's largest electric boiler

A Danish company will supply the equipment to transform 45 MW of German wind turbine electricity into district heating.

Danish Inopower has received an order for a 45 MW electric water boiler. Sweden's Vattenfall has placed the order with Inopower's German subsidiary BVA Elektrokessel for what will be Europe's largest hot water boiler, says the company in a statement, when the boiler is delivered in the second half of this year to the energy company in Hamburg.

The boiler producer, which also manufacturers control systems for the energy industry, was founded in Denmark in 2002. In recent years, Inopower has focused most on export markets, such as Austria and Germany. Overall, the company and its German subsidiary have installed 38 large electric boilers.
