Danish company keen on installing solar panels in Chernobyl

Danish public-private company, Nordic Power Partners, is looking into the possibility of erecting solar panels in the abandoned area near the site of defunct Soviet nuclear power plant Chernobyl.


This year marks the 30th anniversary of the world's largest nuclear disaster.

The nuclear accident in Chernobyl, Ukraine in the former Soviet Union occurred in April 1986 when reactor number 4 exploded and sent a cloud of radioactive material into the atmosphere.
