Svitzer converts ten ships to sail on biofuel

Svitzer's fleet in London will sail on biofuel as of January next year, a conversion that could yield CO2 savings of up to 90 percent.

Maersk-owned tugboat operator Svitzer is converting its London fleet to sail on biofuel.

Specifically, ten tugboats are going to operate on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) biofuel as of January 2022, according to a press release.
