Tesla wins hitherto largest order

Car rental group Hertz has ordered 100,000 electric cars from the US-based automotive company.

Rumor has it that US electric car manufacturer Tesla has received its largest order to date: a supply deal for as many as 100,000 units from car rental company Hertz, reports Bloomberg referencing sources with knowledge of the matter.

Only four months after escaping insolvency, the car leaser places an order sources say is worth USD 4.2bn of revenue for Tesla.
