European data center provider Penta Infra's facility in Glostrup, Denmark, is now certified to supply energy in the form of excess heat created as a by-product of major electricity volumes used for storing bits and bytes.
The data center consumes 400kW of power daily throughout the year, and thus far heat generated in the process has simply gone to waste. Now, however, the facility will be fitted with a heat pump driven by in-house excess energy, reports Danish business daily Børsen.
