Nissan to maintain head start in battery recycling

Nissan means to improve its knowhow on collection and use of rechargeable lithium batteries from old Leaf models.


Japanese car manufacturer Nissan wants to secure its head start over Tesla and Volkswagen in battery recycling by increasing its knowhow in the area, reports Financial Times.

According to Nissan Chief Executive Makoto Uchida, the company has been focusing on recycling and the lifespan of cars long before the topic became so debated.
