DNV to examine risks of offshore hydrogen production

The classification firm has been tasked with investigating safety at a hydrogen project off the coast of France.

DNV is set to examine environmental, safety and operational risks tied to producing hydrogen at sea at Lhyfe's SEM-REV test facility run by engineering firm Centrale Nantes, reports Renews.

"Proving the safety of such activities, particularly with new technologies, to gain acceptance and move them closer to adoption, is vital for the industry and stakeholders," says DNV Executive Vice President Santiago Blanco.
