Maersk Drilling and partners join project testing methanol in fuel cells

Major companies such as Maersk Drilling, DFDS, Hafnia and Alfa Laval join a project to test using methanol in fuel cells. The project is publicly funded and will determine how the cells can help reduce ships' energy consumption.

A number of large companies now support a project aimed at testing the use of fuel cells, with the goal of reducing ship emissions and energy consumption.

Major names such as Maersk Drilling, DFDS, Hafnia and Alfa Laval have joined the project, which also receives funds from the Danish Energy Agency's Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program (EUDP).
